We tried the Midway Cafe and Coffee Bar in Islamorada for breakfast on our return from Key West, and it was an okayish experience. We arrived on a Sunday morning and it was decently busy(though not completely packed). For food, we got the veggie omelet and the breakfast burrito. The omelet was okay—your regular omelette with vegetables inside served with toast, and the breakfast burrito was too “wet”—presumably with the deluge of sauces used inside, so much so that it was quite inconvenient trying to eat it. We felt the food could use a bit more kick. The specialty drinks—Almond Joy and Tropical Macchiato—were just your average drinks, with a somewhat steep price. In hindsight, we should’ve just gotten regular coffee. Their menu also consists of sandwiches, salads and wraps, some of which might be worth checking out. Seating is available both inside and outside. You order at the counter, and then a server brings your food to you when it’s ready. Some parking is available outside, and a restroom is available in the back of the restaurant. Overall, we kind of liked Midway Cafe, but we were expecting more for the price we paid.

Super cute hidden gem of a cafe! I stumbled upon this spot on my way home from The Keys. Funny story, I was looking for the Little Free Library which happens to be located at the cafe. But I also needed coffee for my 3 hour drive home. Midway Cafe & Coffee Bar is open daily @ 7am-2pm. I literally caught them just in time at 1:45pm right before closing. The spot is mad cute with a whimsical vibe and lots of fun colors. They sell cute merch and food. There is plenty of seating out on the back patio and indoors. They offer food and drinks. I got a small 12oz Almond Joy Latte: Chocolate, coconut & almond latte with whipped cream. It was good and did the job. Happy accidental cafe find.
If you’re looking for a great brunch spot, you have to stop by Midway Café! The food is amazing, and they offer both indoor and outdoor dining with plenty of delicious options. I had the omelette and the almond croissant both were incredible! Their menu has everything from breakfast and lunch to coffee and smoothies. Whether you’re staying in Islamorada or just passing through on your way to Key West, this place is a must-visit. Simply delicious!
My and family and I were staying at Islamorada for several days and checked out Midway Cafe and Coffee Bar for breakfast. I loved the bright, colorful eclectic decor, and local art. The service was good and the food was great. We liked Midway Cafe so much that we came went there a few times during our stay. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a great experience here today! My kids enjoyed their kids pancake plate (1 pancake, 1 egg, bacon and fruit for $8 was perfect for them), I enjoyed the Greek chicken salad wrap with a side of lobster bisque with pita chips. It was fantastic, a great light, yet filling brunch. My husband enjoyed his wrap and pasta salad as well. They had a beautifully tempting display of baked goods as well as a nice selection of gifts. The service was fast and friendly! We enjoyed sitting outside! I would definitely be sure to make a stop here!
Midway Cafe is such a beautiful and cozy spot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with reasonable prices. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. we had the green croissant sandwich and waffles, both of which were fantastic. But I really think their coffees are the stars of the menu. A perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal and even better coffee. Highly recommend!
We stopped here on our way out of the keys and it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. We had the green egg sandwich, single pancake, coffee and my husband made his own sandwich. Free refills on coffee, superb food! 10/10 definitely stop. Also the most reasonably priced spot!
We had breakfast here, and the breakfast burrito was plentiful. Bring your appetite if you order this dish. The atmosphere was great, you can sit inside or outside l - there are plenty of tables. The avocado toast was also brilliant. I will be coming back 2 or 3 more times on this 6-day trip here in Islamorada!
